CFU, ICAN Join Forces to Deliver Advertising on Cedar Falls Cable TV

CEDAR FALLS, IA   Cedar Falls Utilities (CFU) and ICAN, Inc. today announced they are joining forces to offer affordable, targeted television advertising on CFU Cable TV. Beginning today, ICAN is the exclusive sales and scheduling agent for businesses that advertise on CFU’s cable system. Local companies can place ads on their choice of more than 40 national cable networks, including ESPN, AMC, Fox News, TBS, TNT, FX, USA and HGTV. “Often there’s a misperception that TV advertising is too expensive for local businesses,” said ICAN President Andy Pepper. “In fact, advertising on cable channels is a low-cost and powerful way to reach a targeted audience. Our company provides this service in many Iowa communities, and we’re pleased to start working on behalf of CFU Cable in the Cedar Valley.” “Many local businesses and organizations already advertise on our cable system,” noted CFU spokesperson Betty Zeman. “We’ve offered local advertising since 1999. The business has grown rapidly, and we’ve expanded by making more channels available and placing clients’ ads on both standard and high definition channels.” “ICAN will have a dedicated salesperson in Cedar Falls and continue the personal service we’ve offered for years,” Zeman said. “ICAN also has a team that creates and produces commercials for the advertisers, and that’s a major expansion in the service we can provide for clients.” To learn more about promoting your Cedar Valley business on CFU Cable TV, contact ICAN.   About ICAN, Inc.  ICAN is a privately held advertising firm specializing in delivering advertising opportunities on nationally branded networks to local communities. ICAN Partners with SDN Communications to bring Community Cable Advertising to South Dakota

ICAN, Inc. is pleased to announce a new partnership that will bring its brand of affordable cable advertising to South Dakota.  Beginning in January, ICAN will partner with SDN Communications to offer local commercial time on 30 cable networks, including world-class brands such as Fox News, CNN, ESPN, and Discovery. Broadband service provider SDN Communications delivers cable TV to more than 30,000 subscribers in eastern South Dakota. “There is a misperception that television advertising is expensive,” ICAN President Andy Pepper says. “We’ve worked main streets in Iowa for years showing how small businesses – salons, retailors, ag businesses and others – can capitalize on affordable advertising programs that build awareness quickly and drive business.” SDN CEO Mark Shlanta says the partnership is a good fit because both SDN and ICAN are home-grown companies with deep roots in South Dakota and Iowa. “ICAN’s team understands our markets because they live in them,” Shlanta says. “They don’t just take orders from national advertisers. They are advocates for brick-and-mortar businesses and show them how they can grow with affordable cable television advertising.” SDN’s system reaches 80 eastern South Dakota communities, including Aberdeen, Brookings and Mitchell. SDN collects the signal at its satellite dish farm at its data center northwest of Sioux Falls and pushes it on its fiber network to a subset of its owner companies (headquarters): Alliance Communications (Garretson) ITC (Clear Lake) James Valley Telecommunications/Northern Valley Communications (Groton/Aberdeen) Kennebec Telephone (Kennebec) RC Communications (New Effington) Santel Communications/Mitchell Telecom (Woonsocket/Mitchell) Swiftel Communications (Brookings) TrioTel (Salem) Valley Telecommunications (Herreid) Venture Communications (Highmore) A number of those companies have also extended fiber to the farm and...
